Kawaii, with a British heart
TagTales began with a simple thought: the personalisation trade had plenty of mugs, tees and blankets, and almost no soft toy that was properly designed to be decorated. So we made one. Then fourteen more.
The story
Our father started trading textiles in 1983. By the time we founded Kids Wholesale Clothing in 2010, we had spent a lifetime around fabric, factories and the small businesses that turn blanks into something personal. Today KWC supplies children's clothing blanks, craft blanks and soft toys to independent retailers, embroiderers, sublimation printers and personalisation businesses across the UK, from our unit in Markfield, Leicestershire.
Our Tummi Bears® range taught us something: decorators loved the soft fleece belly because it printed so well. TagTales takes that idea and gives it a character of its own. Instead of printing on the toy, you print on a tag that is part of the toy. The plush stays plush. The tag carries the story.
Every character is food-themed, alliteratively named, and classically British: Percy, Archie, Poppy, Stevie, Charlie, Betty, Bobby, Toby, Vicky, Cindy. Names that sound at home in a children's book and on an embroidered tag alike.
Who it is for
TagTales is a trade product. We sell it wholesale to businesses that personalise: sublimation and DTF printers, HTV crafters, embroidery studios, Etsy sellers and gift shops. Four rules every character follows
The face
Identical kawaii eyes, black embroidery with a white outline and highlight, and a simple embroidered smile. No cheeks.
The legs
Two warm-brown plush legs centred on the lower front. Ollie has one, in keeping with his slice shape, and the Peas have none.
The tag
Blank white fleece on the right-hand side, brass grommet, short cord, blanket-stitched edge. The hero feature of every character.
The build
100% polyester plush, 100% polyester fibre fill with a sealed, weighted bead pouch, approx. 15cm head to toe.
Safety first, always
Every TagTale is independently tested to BS EN 71 parts 1, 2 and 3 and to ASTM F963, and carries UKCA and CE marks. The bead pouch is sealed, the stitching at the tag is reinforced, and the cord is kept short. Read the compliance details.
